Keegan Bradley has been a pro golfer for over a decade now. As a result, the 37-year-old is well acquainted with the changes that the sport has undergone over the years. As the golfing landscape evolves, many young and spirited talents are flourishing in the game, something that the 2011 PGA Championship winner has also taken notice of.

Well, I think it’s much harder to stay out here. It’s been replaced by really young players that are totally ready to play and win and be in Ryder Cup teams and win majors,” said the Vermont native earlier this year.

Bradley’s observation is evidenced by the number of times the top position in the Official World Golf Rankings has changed hands this year. Rory McIlroy had entered the year ranked No. 1 in the world. However, the Irishman was soon replaced by Jon Rahm, who then lost it to Scottie Scheffler.

Most recently, Wyndham Clark edged out many of the biggest players in the world to claim his maiden major trophy.

Every week is a big purse, every week’s got millions of FedEx Cup points and world ranking point,” Bradley added. The Travelers Championship is one of the select tournaments on the PGA Tour that has achieved the “designated” status. This led to the event’s prize purse being bumped to a jaw-dropping $20 million from $8.3 million(last year’s purse)!

In comparison, Xander Schauffele had pocketed $1.494 million last year for winning the same title.

As Keegan Bradley approached the 18th hole on Sunday, spectators were loudly chanting his name in unison. After all, the golfer had grown up nearby and used to attend the tournament as a child.

This is for all the kids that grew up in New England who had to sit through the winters and watch other people play golf,” the PGAT pro told CBS Sports soon after his win.

The golfer was in dominating form throughout the week. Throughout the tournament, he made a total of 27 birdies and only four bogeys! He even set a 54-hole record at 21-under on Saturday, a shot better than Kenny Perry in 2009.

In the fourth and final round, Bradley briefly struggled as he made three bogeys in four holes but eventually recovered to finish three shots ahead of Zac Blair and Brian Harman.
