After failed attempts at the USGA Championship, it turns out Charlie Woods is finally brimming with joy. He has become the hero of the postseason golf in high school. Charlie Woods, son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, and the Benjamin School boys’ golf team kicked off the 2024 Florida High School State Athletic Association postseason with a strong victory this week.
The Bucs grabbed a win at the District 13-1A championship at the Championship Club at Summerfield last Tuesday. They scored 291 and were two strokes ahead of the Oxbridge Academy. This earned them a spot in the regionals. While they struggled through the first few holes on Monday’s Class 1A Region 4 Tournament at the Miami Shores Country Club, eventually the Bucs grabbed momentum and finished second.
“The thing is, you’re trying to get there,” said Benjamin coach Toby Harbeck. “That was the main objective today – to finish first or second. We wanted to obviously win, but we want to defend our title. We’re going to get that chance, and I like our chances.”

The Benjamin High School boys were just four strokes behind the leaders Fort Lauderdale Pine Crust, who bagged a 7-under 277. Nonetheless, the boys will be marching to the State Championship next week, and Charlie Woods too will be a part of the team. It is scheduled to take place from November 12 to November 13 at the Mission Resort and Club in Howey-In-the-Hills. Well, the boys are aiming to grab their second victory at the postseason golf playoffs this year.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren were at the Miami Shores CC to watch their son play. As per the reports, the two shared the same golf cart. Tiger Woods wore a white ballcap and sunglasses, a polo shirt, and navy shorts (with a black sleeve on his right leg underneath), and Nordegren wore a white sun hat and a long-sleeve T-shirt with “Buccaneers” printed on the front. Woods Jr carded bogeys on the second, third, and eighth holes, and birdies on No. 6, 12, and 13. This helped him finish at par. As soon as he sank the putt on the 18th, his mom was there to congratulate him.
The former couple was spotted together last year as well for their son when he got the celebratory ring at the championship ring ceremony. The 15x major champion must have been proud of his son after he played impressive golf, and they even had a small chat on the 12th hole.

Well, this is the first time the 82X PGA Tour champion has been spotted in public after his sixth surgery on his lower back in September. So what does it mean for Tiger Woods’s returns on the greens?
Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods might be back for the 2024 PNC Championship
On October 23, the 2024 Hero World Challenge released its list of initial players, which followed the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Keegan Bradley, Russell Henley, and other players. However, Tiger Woods’s name was not a part of the field. There are three spots left that are yet to be filled. With Tiger Woods in sight in Miami, it could mean that his healing process is pacing up and he can soon tee off. After all, he did return to the greens last year as well in the Bahamas. Additionally, Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods have made it to all the PNC Championships for the past four years.

However, this year, their spot was unsure because of the pro golfer’s recovery. But there is a high possibility, after being spotted for his son’s victory, that the duo will tee off at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, together for the fifth consecutive year.
Although there is no official announcement yet. Do you think they will be part of the field on December 19? Let us know in the comments section below!
