The Travelers Championship is progressing at the TPC River Highlands now. And Rory McIlroy and J. T. Poston have scored 62 in the first round. With this, McIlroy tied with Scott Piercy for third on the list of golfers who scored 62 and less the most number of times.
Notably, Kevin Na and Thomas have the first and second positions on the list, respectively. And the latter was not going to leave this opportunity to make a joke on the same.
Justin Thomas took a dig at Kevin Na!
Justin Ray, the head of content at Twenty First Group, had recently shared the PGA Tour stats on his Twitter. Thomas spent no time responding to Justin Ray’s post on Twitter. He commented, “Well, it’s gonna be hard for Kevin to run away from me on this particular list (laughing emoji).”
Kevin Na is a 38-year-old professional golfer who started his journey with the PGA Tour in 2004. Although he was not successful in winning a major title, he has won five other tournaments on the American golf tour.

Notably, he is the current world no. 34. After being with the Tour for nearly two decades, Kevin Na has chosen to switch leagues. He has signed with the Tour’s rival league, the LIV Golf Invitational Series.

Interestingly, the 2021 Sony Open champion is the first of many to resign from the Tour to play for the Saudi-backed golf league. “I am sad to share that I have chosen to resign from the PGA Tour,” Na wrote in a public statement revealing his resignation. His statement further read, “I hope the current policies change, and I’ll be able to play on the PGA Tour again.”
Tour had revealed they would take disciplinary actions against the players for signing with the LIV Golf. Later, it was revealed that the organization chose to suspend all the LIV Golf players from attending the Tour-related events.

Thomas has been a strong advocate of the PGA Tour for a long time. He is one of the many to choose the Tour’s legacy over the LIV Golf money.
Yet, the 2-time PGA Championship winner has been recently counted as the next to join the league. It all happened after the PGA Tour revealed his withdrawal from the Travelers Championship without citing a reason. Even though Thomas revealed the actual reason for his withdrawal, the damage has already been done. Nonetheless, Thomas still is a PGA Tour player and is not planning to switch sides now.
