Is Hae-ran Ryu the next unstoppable force in women's golf with her TaylorMade arsenal?

Isn’t it crazy? It’s only Hae-ran Ryu’s second season on the LPGA Tour, and she has already made her name among the golf elites. The South Korean pro has been on a journey—from her amateur days, dominating tournaments like the 2016 World Junior Girls Championship and the 2018 Korean Women’s Amateur, to making her mark among the pros.

Flash forward to 2023, and there she was, turning a tough round around. She carded two bogeys on the front nine, then rallied back with a fierce 6-under (29) on the back to win the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, marking her first LPGA Tour title. Not bad for a 23-year-old, right?

But Ryu’s career isn’t just about skill; it’s also about trust, especially in the tools she uses. So, who are her closest allies on the course?

Hae-ran Ryu’s equipment choice is all TaylorMade

When it comes to her game, Hae-ran Ryu has a trusted partner; TaylorMade. Starting with the big swings, Ryu reaches for her Stealth 2 Plus with 9° Loft, which costs $399.99 and offers wonderful features like a 60x carbon twist face for better energy transfer and faster ball speeds. It helps the golfer take charge of her launch and trajectory. It fits with the Mitsubishi Kai’li Red shaft with 10.5 degrees of loft and a regular flex.

For fairways, she uses Stealth Plus 15° 3-Wood fairway. This one helps her enhance playability and precision and is priced at $349.99. She also carries Stealth 2 Plus 19.5° Rescue in her bag. The length of this tool is 40.25, and it’s easy to use and provides distance and precision in the game, priced at $219.99.

As for her hybrids, she selects Qi10 Tour, which she has set at 19.5° and costs $449.99. This club comes with a lower-profile moveable weight system and a 4° loft sleeve for customizable flight paths, giving her options for versatile play.

What are Ryu’s companions for her short game?

While talent is something we admire in athletes, it’s often the mix of agility and equipment choice that makes their game win-worthy. For Ryu, getting herself out of tough spots around the course calls for her TaylorMade Milled Grind 4 Wedges, each priced at $179.99. These wedges are designed with a laser-etched spin tread and a raw face, giving her a better grip around the greens and extra spin, even in wet conditions. Ryu carries a 48°, 54°, and 58°, each paired with a KBS Black C-Taper Lite 105 R shaft to complete her short-game setup.

And for those final strokes, Ryu’s got her TaylorMade TP Reserve M47 Putter, a true beauty priced at $299.99. This putter is a dream for purists, crafted from flawless steel and built to bring that extra finesse to her game.

And of course, how can we not mention the hero of the game, the ball itself? Ryu’s go-to is the TaylorMade TP5, which costs $54.99. It’s the softest 5-layer Tour ball out there, delivering top-notch greenside performance with the bonus of the TP5 pix for better visibility.

Her equipment has not really changed in the past few months. All in all, Ryu’s carefully chosen equipment doesn’t just support her play; it also boosts her confidence with every swing. With these tools in hand, do you think this rising star is set to slay the game?
