A mother is often the most cherished and irreplaceable figure in one’s life, and tragically, Tiger Woods recently lost his. Kutilda Woods took her last breath at the age of 78 on February 4, 2025. Paying a tribute to her, Woods shared a post on his social media account. “She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my achievements would have been possible,” he wrote. He has been getting condolences ever since from the golf community.

While one would not expect him to be playing golf after the devastating news, on Friday, he confirmed that he will begin his 2025 season with the Genesis Invitational next week. And not just that, it truly is impossible to keep the 49 YO away from the greens. Reports from the US confirm that Tiger Woods, 49, joined Donald Trump for a round of golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, a few hours ago. Trump was also set to attend tonight’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, where the Eagles demolished the Chiefs’ three-peat plan.

A few hours later, Donald Trump shared how he felt after having the round with Tiger Woods. We all know how badly he has been struggling to keep up with his age, and now this news is only bound to make it worse. But who knows, maybe this time he might get better at dedicating a win for his mother. TW Legion took to their X account and shared what Trump had to say about Woods. They reported, “President Trump briefly comments on his round with Tiger Woods this morning: “He was great. He’s a great guy. He’s very sad about his Mother’s passing. He’s a great guy.” (Via PBS news)”, with a video of the POTUS.

While the meeting might seem like a normal game of golf, was it truly just about playing a round? Well, it does not seem that way.

Can Donald Trump and Tiger Woods be meeting for the merger?

A year ago, it would’ve been hard to imagine Tiger Woods ever talking about a potential deal with LIV Golf. Back then, he made it clear he wasn’t on board, especially with Greg Norman at the helm. Tiger had always believed the PGA Tour should stand strong on its own, without being influenced by LIV’s deep pockets. He was vocal about the fact that the merger wasn’t even a conversation as long as Norman’s leadership remained intact. He summed it up back in December 2022 when he said, “Not right now, not with their leadership, not with Greg there and his animosity towards the Tour itself.”

Fast forward to today, and things have shifted. With Norman stepping down and the winds of change blowing through LIV, Tiger’s perspective seems to have evolved. He welcomed the new CEO, Scott O’Neil, with open arms at the first TGL match, even offering his support for the changes ahead. Tiger’s endorsement of O’Neil is a big shift from his previous stance. And that’s not all. The video shared by NUCLR Golf a few hours ago, had another of them suited up, and also doing a handshake, just like one would do, when a deal is confirmed. And well, we all know Trump’s influence in it. He had also claimed to get the deal done in fifteen minutes, and why would he not? His deep ties with the PIF are in itself evidence of his power.

And not to forget, Tiger Woods is among the significant faces of the PGA Tour. Taking Rory McIlroy’s advice to heart, the PGA Tour CEO teamed up with Adam Scott as they turned to Donald Trump for help in speeding up the deal. And since the recent incident did not allow him to be a part of the meeting, maybe he met Trump separately for the same. Additionally, they even reported that Charlie Woods also joined them, and in the video, he was making his swings, while the two seniors stood behind and were caught in a serious discussion. Do you think their discussion could be about the merger? Let us know in the comments section below!
