Former world No. 1 and World Golf Hall of Fame member, Greg Norman, is the CEO of  LIV Golf. Ever since the series came into the picture, the world of Golf has changed a lot. Things are not the same anymore. More so, before the entry of the Saudi-backed league, the PGA tour, and the European Tour dominated the world of golf.


Recently, LIV Golf was turned down by a major broadcaster which led to a severe dilemma for the series. Since the series has faced its share of thumbs-downs, this major ‘no’ is concerning for the series.

LIV Golf and the recent setback it faced

The Saudi backed series launch wasn’t as easy as it seemed to a lot of us. Ever since its initiation, LIV Golf has garnered attention from all over the world.

It has been denied broadcasting rights by major broadcasting giants. CBS, NBC, and ESPN have already pledged their loyalty to the PGA Tour. Apple TV was one of the major broadcasters Norman and LIV were counting on.

However, recently, as per the sources, Apple TV has also denied LIV the opportunity to be broadcasted on its platform. The streaming service termed the Saudi funded series as “too toxic” for them to broadcast it on their platform.

Sadly for LIV, as the cards have been unfolding, the series might either buy time on a network or will have to continue being telecasted for free on DTC and on their site or YouTube.

Greg Norman and his masterplan

Greg Norman’s nickname “The Greatest White Shark” is probably befitting. Norman’s hold on the game is commendable and probably amazes the viewers beyond their capacity. Norman has successfully won 89 professional tournaments, including 20 PGA Tour tournaments and two majors.

However, the immensely talented golfer is not as harmless as he seems to be. Norman was the leader in the “attack” against the PGA Tour. The golfing sensation called the PGA Tour monopolist and offered to present the world of golf with a free choice they can exercise.

This choice he claimed to offer was called “LIV Golf.” Norman has stuck to the aforementioned ever since its initiation and is seeing things through, as they come.
