Greg Norman even went to the extent of saying, “So, I take it as a compliment that he wanted to beat my 20 PGA Tour wins. How did the Conflict emerge?
This incident has led to a considerable rift between the two golf stars. Even though an in-person fight has not surfaced, the relationship between the two seems to be strained for life.
This conflict of interest has occurred due to LIV Golf, of which Norman is the CEO. Rory McIlroy is one of the PGA Tour loyalists who has been in opposition to the rival Golf League. Norman made comments in response to Rory’s previously made statement that indirectly hinted at how he is now one win ahead in the PGA Tour career wins in comparison to the former Australian professional.
Consequently, Norman took a hit at McIlroy and stated that he asked for a sizeable fee to play in LIV Golf and did not completely reject it. This contributed to the bad blood between the two.
