The LIV Golf league, which is the brainchild of ‘Shark’ Greg Norman, has successfully brought in some of the best players on board. However, some are still strongly against the whole idea of the league’s existence. And that includes golf legend, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Justin Thomas. But despite all of McIlroy’s comments about the Saudi-backed league, Norman is ready to welcome him to LIV Golf when or if he wishes to.

Greg Norman has no issues with PGA Tour players joining LIV Golf
Rory McIlroy has always been one of the most loyal supporters of the PGA Tour. And being in support of the tour has also brought out his outspoken criticism towards the tour’s biggest rival, the LIV Golf league. McIlroy is among the very few players who are strictly against LIV Golf and its money-led ways.
There have been various instances where McIlroy has come out strongly against the Saudi-backed league. He once talked about the players joining the breakaway league and how they were “jeopardizing” their relationship with the tour and its players. He also said that the transition of players to the new league felt like a “betrayal” to him.
However, despite everything the Irishman said about the league, Greg Norman would be happy to have him on the inside. In the latest edition of Bunkered, Norman said, “Our door is open for everybody…We’re not the PGA Tour. We’re not like that. We exist for the players, so we will always have an open door, whether that’s for Rory or Jordan Spieth or Justin Thomas or whoever. “
His statements were a clear invitation to all potentially talented players on the PGA Tour. On the other hand, Norman also displayed some confidence in his conversation with Justin Thomas regarding the league.
“We talked to JT,” he said. “We sat down with him and gave him the full presentation and, if you notice, he’s not said much negative about what we’re doing…he knows it and understands it.” But Thomas is also a great supporter of the PGA Tour. Moreover, he’s the best friend of the PGA Tour’s backbone, Tiger Woods.

Norman about Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s comments regarding his resignation
During his conversation, Norman also brought up Tiger Woods and said he had no idea about what he and his friend McIlroy were talking about. Both McIlroy and Woods recently said that Norman should resign from the position of LIV’s CEO. But the ex-professional golfer said he had no plans of going anywhere.
“Rory and Tiger have no idea what they’re talking about,” he said. “I have got the full support from my chairman…But I know what they’re trying to do.” Norman’s stand about staying in the same position in LIV Golf is clear. He is also willing to welcome all new players from the PGA Tour to his new league. However, the chances of McIlroy, Thomas, or Woods for instance joining the Saudi circuit are close to null.
