Greg Norman has put his heart and soul into ensuring that LIV Golf succeeds. The former commissioner has used many of his resources to help the players grow beyond their achievements on the course. He has often endorsed some of the biggest names in LIV Golf like Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm to get them the exposure they need to go big. This has been beneficial not only for the league but also for the individual careers of the pros playing in it. But he has not been receiving much credit for his efforts from the LIV Golf players.

However, Bryson DeChambeau didn’t shy away from shedding some light on the ex-CEO’s work. The 31-year-old recently joined a podcast on YouTube to discuss his journey in LIV Golf. This particular segment was focused on DeChambeau’s recent partnership with Reebok. Let’s see what he had to say.

Bryson DeChambeau and his team; the Crushers GC signed a lucrative deal with Reebok in mid-December 2024. The LIV Golf pro also signed an individual contract with the famed shoe brand around the same time.

DeChambeau joined The Joe Pomp Show on YouTube a couple of days ago to discuss the deal. Pompliano asked the 2024 U.S. Open winner why they chose to sign with Reebok. That’s when DeChambeau recollected memories of John Daly & Greg Norman wearing the brand on course many years ago. The duo then talked about how Adidas took over Reebok in 2005. In 2022, the Authentic Brands Group purchased Reebok back from Adidas and has been trying to market the brand again.

Pompliano inquired about how the conversation between Reebok and the Crushers GC began. DeChambeau said, “There was initial interest. They reached out after I won the U.S. Open.” This host added “That helps” to which the LIV Golf pro agreed with a giggle. DeChambeau continued “Greg Norman reached out, Reebok reached out. We were playing and toying with the idea. They knew they wanted to get back into the golf space. They didn’t know when and then it just got expedited.” Explaining the timeline of things, the Crushers GC captain mentioned how Greg Norman had reached out to start the conversation.

It’s evident that the former LIV Golf commissioner played a key role in bringing Reebok to Bryson DeChambeau. The Crushers GC will reap the benefits of his efforts in the 2025 season. Sadly, Greg Norman won’t be here to watch his efforts blossom.

Crushers GC’s reaction to the Reebok deal

Beyond the initial conversation, DeChambeau also mentions how Reebok was intrigued by his social activities, the image of Crushers GC, and the impact of LIV Golf. That was an integral part of their decision to approach him and his team. When asked how it would benefit his team, DeChambeau replied, “I felt like it would be a good value-add for the team. They could have their input into clothing.” This shows how the two-time U.S. Open winner always puts his team first.

Speaking about his role in Crushers GC, DeChambeau added, “The way I’ve tried to lead this team is by having everyone else have a lot of input.” This suggests that he is a player’s captain. He mentioned how he doesn’t like to boss his team around. Speaking about his leadership style, DeChambeau said, “A leader empowers and emboldens these individuals to be themselves and give value and input.”

When he asked his team if they would like to go with Reebok, they said, “Yeah, we would love to do that”. The mad scientist stated, “I don’t usually do things without their input”. He believes that every decision about the team should be “mutually beneficial” to every member. However, he may have skipped taking advice from his teammates about the Reebok advertisements. Maybe that is why it received so much criticism from the fans.
