In a recent list that was released of the top influential figures in golf, Norman ranked third.
Norman’s influence over golf comes to light
Today’s golfer recently posted a list ranking the 100 most influential people in golf. Rory McIlroy was one of the players to rank highly on the list, securing the last place in the top ten.

Greg Norman was also on the list and much higher than most people would expect. The shark placed third on the list of 100. He went on to defeat PGA Tour Commissioner, Jay Monahan, who finished fifth. Both Greg and Jay have taken up seats opposite the table, spearheading their own tours.
Greg’s third-place finish was well-deserved after all he’s accomplished this year. Despite the many controversies that surround LIV Golf, Greg has done a lot of good with the series. He recruited 14 Major winners to his team. But it doesn’t end there. Norman has the plan to sign another seven of the world’s top 20 players before the next LIV golf season starts.
Tiger Woods triumphs over Greg Norman
The shark has now linked his legacy to that of LIV. Although many see him as the villain, pushing the wrong cause, Norman believes he will triumph. He still has a long way to go if he wants LIV to be a worthy competitor alongside the PGA and DP World Tours.

Norman’s 3rd ranking is impressive, but unsurprisingly, he lost out to the golf legend. Tiger Woods ranked first on the list, and probably by a big margin. Although the 15-time major winner hasn’t played much during the year, he still holds the biggest influence when it comes to the sport.
Woods is the reason golf is what it is today, and that is why the sport has grown so much. LIV would not exist today if it were not for Tiger and the recognition he brought to golf. The 82-time PGA Tour victor still plays on the tour and is also an outspoken advocate for the PGA Tour side. He is one of Norman’s bigger roadblocks.
