“There’s nothing I can do to influence people,” admitted a devastated Talor Gooch while alluding to his unfortunate Masters situation. But even so, he was hopeful that his gameplay would change people’s minds. Besides, it appears he has taken his first step toward the goal, all thanks to the CEO of LIV Golf, Greg Norman.

A tweet was shared by NUCLRGOLF on its X handle (formerly Twitter) about a comment that the Australian shark made about Gooch. Surprisingly, he had nothing but praises to dish out for the 2023 Individual champion!

It appears that an accolade-filled year in 2023 was enough for Gooch to get recognized by the 69-year-old as he was spotted complimenting him recently. Expressing approval of the golfer, he mentioned how the 32-year-old is the best iron player in the game of golf in the past 20 years.

The retired athlete was speaking on the LIV Golf’s broadcast of the ongoing tournament at Miami. Interestingly, adding to his praises, Norman said, “I’ve just loved watching him. His iron play is so precise,” while doubling down on Gooch’s gameplay as well.

Meanwhile, Talor Gooch is currently placed at T2 tied with Matthew Wolff, Dean Burmester, and Tyrrell Hatton at the 5th event of the Saudi-backed league in Miami. What’s more, over the two days of play, the 32-year-old registered scores of 67(-5) and 70(-2) by carding nine birdies and an eagle on the par-5, 8th on the first day.

Anyhow, despite being in such good form, the golfer had been unable to get qualified or procure an invite for the upcoming major that will kick off soon at Augusta National. Even so, he wasn’t one to sit quietly.
