‘Grande Not Fat’: Contrasting to Rival Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods Reveals His Unique Coffee Preference

Two of the best golfers of their generation, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, have a history of competition on the course. Their fierce rivalry and excellent exploits have captured the attention of golf fans everywhere. Despite their mutual regard for one another, both athletes push one another to perform at their highest level when they compete. They are ferocious rivals, and their on-the-green fights generated some of the most iconic moments in golf history. But this is also evident in their selections for caffeine, in addition to the competition on the greens.

Both Mickelson and Woods have their own style of playing on the course; similarly, off it too, they have their own preferences. And when it comes to coffee, that’s exactly where things remain between the two.

Just like many other golfers, including Mickelson, Woods also has a reputation for drinking coffee all day long, frequently beginning with a cup in the morning before working out. And recently his coffee taste, and his fancy coffee order captured the interest of the golf world!

Golf Digest posted footage from Woods’ vehicle interview on their Instagram page, captioned, “Tiger doesn’t mess around with his coffee,” assuring the fans that Woods neither messes around on the course nor off it, especially when it comes to coffee!  In the interview, the 47-year-old was questioned about his standard coffee order, which is very extravagant. Woods responded to the query by saying, “Grande not fat. Double shot. Hazelnut latte.”

His passion for the drink extends far beyond just sipping it. He has admitted in interviews that he likes the flavor and caffeine boost that coffee offers. Even further, Woods has incorporated his love of coffee into the layout of his golf course. He collaborated with Bluejack National to create a Texas golf course with a coffee shop, ‘The Roastery.’ He also partnered with Hero Coffee in 2020 to launch his own coffee brand, ‘Tiger’s Brew,’ with African and South American coffee beans combined to make the beverage.

The golf legend’s biggest rival, Phil Mickelson, also shares his love for coffee. And despite their shared passion, they couldn’t be further apart in their taste for the drink! While Woods’ prefers an extravagant latte filled with flavor to get his day going, Lefty has taken a liking to the drink due to his diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis.

Mickelson claims that coffee helps him survive. The coffee he drinks includes, 12-16 oz. Ethiopian beans, Two to three tbsp. MCT or XCT oil, a scoop of protein powder, pink salt and many more ingredients to help him performance as well as his health when it comes to his arthritis, as per his doctors suggestion.
