LIV Golf is in Sin City, but Pat Perez is not. Make no mistake, the 47-year-old is not going to give the Las Vegas Invitational a miss. Rather, he is too focused on bettering his T51 from last week in Mexico. And the LIV Pro believes, after going through a very rancorous divorce, Vegas is not the best place to focus on his game.
It was rather surprising because Perez was notorious for living life in the fast lane. And what better place for that than the Neon Capital of the World? Does the LIV Golf pro want to forget and forsake his past life?

The former PGA Tour Pro was asked about his experience on the Vegas course. Perez revealed that he knew the greens: “It’s short,” but that’s only it. He played here some twenty years ago. But probably he hasn’t checked the course yet because the Scottsdale resident is not staying in the Vegas strip.
Perez admitted that it felt good to be back in Vegas, but he is keeping a check on himself. “I’m excited to be here. But I’m not actually staying on the Strip this week, because… too much temptation.” And ‘temptations’ is exactly what the three-time PGA Tour winner wants to avoid at all costs.
Mayakoba hasn’t been kind to the player and his team. The T51 on the individual leaderboard was his worst performance at the upstart league. That also meant the 47-year-old has failed to come within the top 30 in his last six outings. Perez plans to stick to his plans until LIV Golf Las Vegas is well underway. The Scottsdale resident said, “So, I’m gonna stay away from (Vegas) until Saturday night.”

Perez’s performance was also endemic to his team. 4Aces GC finished in 12th place on the team leaderboard. The 47-year-old seems to have taken the responsibility on his shoulders. But his personal life is in no way helping him.

Perez’s married life is in shambles
Pat Perez’s wife, Ashley Perez, filed for divorce last November in Arizona’s Maricopa County court. The marriage has been described as irretrievably broken with no chances of reconciliation anytime soon, Fox News reported. Apparently, Ashley wanted the sole “legal decision-making” power for the minor children. The LIV Golf Pro has two children with his former wife, and he wanted joint custody of both.

After the news broke out, Ashley Perez took a veiled dig at his former husband. The social media influencer reshared a clip of Tamsen Fadal, where the author revealed her former partner was “critical of everything I did and always had this way of making me feel like I had to prove myself to him.” After expressing her desire to move on, Ashley reposted the clip, captioning, “Sounds familiar.” It seems that Pat Perez also wants to start anew after the split, as his comments indicate.
