The American professional uploaded a video in which he announced his surgery. He tweeted the video and a vast statement through his official Twitter account on June 2nd, 2022. Moreover, in the video, the two-time major championship winner revealed that he would be undergoing meniscus preservation surgery this week. As a result, Watson will be out from golf and will look to make a comeback by the fall.
Watson also talked about how they will try to preserve as much meniscus as possible so that he can continue playing golf. At the same time, the PGA Tour professional revealed that he would be on crutches for 8-12 weeks, and this surgery is vital and will allow him to continue playing the sport he loves.
In the video, he said, “Hey guys, Bubba Watson here, having surgery this week, meniscus preservation surgery. We’re going to save as much of the meniscus as possible so I can continue to play the rest of my life. Play the game of golf that I love, but I’ll give you updates throughout the time. Be on crutches for about eight or 12 weeks. Wish me luck. You’re welcome..”
Bubba Watson’s statement in the video said, “Whelp! Looks like my knee will keep me out longer than hoped. Having my meniscus repaired tomorrow and should be swinging a club again by fall. It’s the best long term solution so I can keep playing for years to come. I appreciate any prayers y’all wanna send my way!” When do you think he will play again?
The golf world sympathizes with Bubba Watson after his announcement
As soon as the announcement video by Watson broke out, the golf Twitter turned into a frenzy. Golf fans from all parts of the globe started to react to the disappointing release by the American professional. The majority of them sent their prayers to him. At the same time, other fans were sad that they would not see the Tour pro on the course.
Don’t push it and make sure you get that thing 100% or else it’ll tear again. I overdid it on mine(lateral meniscus) and re-tore, ended up losing it🥴 will need a knee replacement eventually but been fine for the 5 years I haven’t had it. See ya next season bubba✌🏼
