The 2020 Masters champion has recently been in the news after his name was disclosed in the playing field for the opening LIV Golf Invitational Series. His name came as a surprise for various golf fans all over the globe, as Johnson had earlier pledged his allegiance to the PGA Tour. Moreover, the former World No. 1 has received a record-breaking figure of $125 million to make his appearance at the rival tour’s event starting on June 9th at the Centurion Club, just outside London.
Recently, Front Office Sports tweeted through their official Twitter account regarding the same. In the tweet, they talked about how the offer Dustin has received to compete in the Saudi-backed golf league is reportedly more than Tiger Woods or any other professional has earned in their entire PGA Tour career. Woods has made $121 million throughout his entire career on the PGA Tour in terms of on-course earnings. At the same time, Johnson received a massive deal of $125 million to compete on the LIV Golf Tour.
The tweet said, “Dustin Johnson will reportedly make more money for joining the LIV Golf Tour than Tiger Woods — or any other pro golfer — has earned in his entire PGA Tour career..” Not to forget, if DJ plays in the opening LIV Golf event, he will face disciplinary action as PGA Tour is clear if a professional alleges with the rival tour will serve a temporary suspension, which can turn into a lifetime ban.
The golf world reacts to Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods’ earnings
As soon as the Tweet came to light, the golf Twitter became a frenzy. Golf fans from all parts of the globe started to react to Johnson and the 15-time major champion’s PGA Tour career earnings comparison. The Majority of the fans had mixed reactions about the same. At the same time, other fans reacted by saying that the two famous names cannot be compared. However, only time will tell how the Tour will act to Johnson’s bold move.
Tiger earned the majority of his money 15-20 years ago. He would have made easily 2-3 times that if he played now.

I guess I’m wondering since we know he’s going to lose sponsors since he already lost one, will he lose the rest. If so, then wouldn’t the fair comparison be their on course and off course earnings.

Tiger earned his 121 mill by winning but I guess congratulations on the mega deal.
