If you weren’t already super-hyped about the return of the PGA tour after its off-season, you now have another reason. Along with seeing all your favorite golfers back in action again, some new Titleist equipment will be tried out for the very first time during the weekend!
The PGA Tour will return with a short swing to the beautiful island of Hawaii with the Sentry Tournament of Champions. The $8,000,000 event will be played between January 6-9, at the Kapalua Plantation Course. However, our excitement doubled when Titleist gave us some news, which is sure to excite most golf fans, especially ones who prefer the Fairhaven-based company.

Titleist’s Vokey SM9 to make debut at Kapalua
Titleist took to their social media handles to reveal the big news that the latest editions of their Vokey wedges will be unveiled at Kapalua. They wrote, “Follow along as players get their first opportunity to game the new models in competition at Kapalua.”
New #SM9 wedges make their debut this week at the @Sentry_TOC in Maui.
Stay tuned to Vokey and @Titleist social channels over the coming weeks for updates as the introduction of SM9 wedges continues on the PGA TOUR and across the worldwide professional tours.#AlwaysGrinding pic.twitter.com/XRcoDGf2OB

Giving an insight, they wrote on their Instagram, “Master Craftsman Bob Vokey and @VokeyWedgeRep, working alongside Vokey’s team of engineers, have spent the last two years designing prototypes and testing them with the world’s best players, pushing forward in their relentless mission to craft better performing and better feeling wedges.”
According to Titleist, these have been the most used wedges on the PGA Tour since 2004. So, this certainly is big, as this could become the next big thing in the professional world. The new wedges do not stray far from the previous ones and fans even pointed out the lack of new design. However, most were excited at this announcement.

Among the Titleist sponsors who will be teeing it up in Maui, we can count on them to be flaunting these new clubs. Hopefully, that will include Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, and a couple of others.
