Since last year, all focus has been on Tiger Woods and his Masters 2022 presence. Finally, with the tournament only days away, the PGA Tour icon has confirmed his participation. The entire golf world has waited for Woods’ return, eager to see their favorite back on the course.

After all, for many, there is no Masters without Woods at Augusta National.

However, despite his prolonged absence from the tour, Woods seems just as eager to return. The 46-year-old legend was involved in a car crash last February, which had him sidelined for months together. Looking at the extent of his injuries, a return to golf itself was in question.

Is Tiger Woods confident about another major win?

In a recent press conference, Woods was asked if he thinks he can win the Masters this week.

“I do,” Woods replied.

No matter what one might say, Woods seemed as confident as ever.

Fans, on their end, seem beyond excited. Not only are they happy about Woods’ comeback but also impressed with his confidence. If Woods does indeed win, this would be his 16th major win.

Some fans wondered if Woods could have actually said no, especially with the interviewer asking him. However, many believe that considering Woods’ injuries, most players would simply be happy to make the cut.

Many simply seemed excited, wanting to see Woods do exactly what he said he will. His injuries, of course, were spoken about. With his leg being injured, it would be a miracle if Woods actually went home with another major victory.

When did Woods win his last major?

Woods’ last major win was the 2019 Masters, making it his fifth win at Augusta National. Interestingly, the Masters was also the very first tournament (1997) Woods clinched. Since then, Woods has gone on to win 14 more majors.

Despite multiple injuries in the second half of his career, Woods has always managed to bounce back. This time seems to be no exception, especially as there was less hope of his PGA Tour return.

Woods did play the PNC Championship with his son last year, coming in second. Unfortunately, it was not enough for a PGA Tour return just yet. This time, however, Woods seems sure of his health.

That being said, a victory at the 2022 Masters won’t be easy to achieve. Away from the tour for months, a return will be difficult for any golfer.
