It is official! The former NBC golf analyst, David Feherty, has signed with LIV Golf! The Saudi-backed league officials released the update through an interesting video that features many LIV players, including Phil Mickelson.
Feherty joining the league is a big deal. However, funnily enough, the golf world is currently discussing the information the 6-time major shared about himself through video rather than the news about the new signing.

“Hey, David, it’s Phil here, under this mask,” Mickelson said in the video. “In Rwanda, hanging with gorillas.” Notably, the part where Mickelson welcomes Feherty was added in the last part of the video. “Just wanted to welcome you to LIV,” he further added. “See you soon.”

Interestingly, the other LIV players, including Bryson DeChambeau and Lee Westwood, chose to say a lot about Feherty and what he has done for golf. However, Mickelson chose to reveal his whereabouts and casually welcomed the golf analyst to LIV Golf!
Twitter reaction to the updates about Phil Mickelson
Sean Zak of Golf Magazine was the first to point out Mickelson’s part from the LIV Golf video. “Phil Mickelson has been in Rwanda “hanging with the gorillas” since The Open,” he tweeted with a screenshot of the golfer from the video. “So there’s that!”
Mickelson is enjoying his time in Rwanda, with gorillas, after the British Open week. And many golf fans found creative and funny ways to express their thoughts on it.
The gorillas look like they too are tired of his stories .

Yeah, sure, he won the Gorilla Open, but only by 2 strokes from that big guy over there.

You have to wear a mask near gorillas. They are very sensitive. No joke

After joining LIV golf, Mickelson has not been joking around and behaving uncomfortably during the press meets and interviews. However, he got to display his true self in the video while welcoming the golf analyst David Feherty and generating a laugh from fans, as he used to do.
