The 28-year-old signed with the league after the Tour commissioner announced the suspension. When asked about the suspension, DeChambeau explained he likes to play in the Tour’s future events if possible. “I would love to play Arnold Palmer,” he added. “I would love to play PGA Tour events when they would allow me to.”
Fans’ reaction to DeChambeau’s revelation!
Notably, Bryson DeChambeau admitted that money was one of the reasons he chose to sign with LIV Golf. Although nobody knows how he got as part of the contract, reports claim he was offered from $135 million to $240 million.
Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson received around $200 million from LIV Golf. Yet, the golfer stated that he joined the league because of its progressive format. Many fans appreciated DeChambeau for being honest about why he jumped from the Tour.
Bryson clearly very much more comfortable than Phil. Refreshing to hear him admit the money was one factor. Best of luck @b_dechambeau!

'It's a business decision'. At least he's honest, and I respect that part of it.

First one I’ve heard come out and say that it’s for the money. 🤷🏻♂️👍🏻

Great answers @b_dechambeau . I think @PhilMickelson needs to give more confident answers like you and call out the hypocrisy of @ThePGA

Luv him or hate him least he fronted up instead of hiding behind the bollocks growing the game nonsense

Meanwhile, the Mad Scientist did receive criticism for jumping from one Tour to another. Some even pointed out how the golfer blamed the PGA for not letting him play in its events.
Decent interview, honest about the 💵 point but I can’t stand the petted lip bit at the end (a few players are doing)… it’s someone else’s decision. No it’s not. It’s yours. You knew suspensions would come if you jump ship. At least own the consequences of it.

In other words! I wanna play all the good PGA events and replace the lesser know ones with events I get paid a loads of money for! Hope the PGA hold their nerve, but I don’t think they will…

Clever interview. In any good story, there is the hero, the victim and the bad-guy. Effective PR is managing the roles… don’t be the bad guy. Family man – hero. Honesty – hero. Victim – *they* are not letting me play. The bad-guy… the PGA.

Best interview so far. It’s the @PGATOUR that stopping him playing not him

The time off argument is nonsense. Why would you want to play both tours if you want time off?
