When LIV Golf said, they were “Golf, But Louder!” no one at the Greenbrier in West Virginia, London, could have expected what was about to unfold. LIV golf is currently hosting the ninth event of its current season in London. This brings the league back full circle. It was at London’s Centurion Golf Club, that LIV hosted its first event.
Golf is hailed to be a gentleman’s sport filled with sophistication and grace. There are certain things that no one has ever seen on the field, and many would claim do not belong on a golf field. Unfortunately, LIV Golf did not get that memo based on their opening act at the London event. It has left fans wondering if it is an act of desperation or just LIV not being in touch with reality.
A blast from the past for LIV Golf

This Friday morning, as fans sat down for a wonderful game of golf, they were interrupted by what the community is calling the cringiest thing to happen to golf. Right on the beautiful greens was a flash mob.
LIV Golf London event begins with flash mob dance (Yes, we are just as confused as you are). https://t.co/3p90QaoHG9 pic.twitter.com/tqvUIIMojN

And if a big, flashy mob wasn’t enough to get people confused, the song they chose was the icing on the cake – Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO, which was a club jam that had its peak in the 2010s. Fans in attendance were left speechless by the sight, and the comments left on social media prove that the ones watching at home were just as confused.
The crowd went wild, but not in a good way
The flash mob was not a big hit among the golf fans watching the event. Fans took to social media to express their feelings of horror and surprise.
The troupe of dancers also had a few members in LIV-branded volunteer bibs. The sight of this proved that regardless of what LIV claimed, this act was staged to be a surprise factor. Needless to say, the video got the views it was looking for, over two million of it. Unfortunately, not all were positive.
While some of the comments were hilarious:
Wow a flash mob…way to be on the cutting edge of social trends. We’re only a few years away from LIV picking up on the Ice Bucket Challenge.

What exactly is a flash mob promoting?
It's silly and not needed.
It's not a flash mob but rather LIV's version of the Solid Gold Dancers. Why not turn the whole thing into a musical with players singing as they approach shots?
Such a circus atmosphere that does nothing to promote the game.— George Ponder (@Coppertop004) July 8, 2023
Some were confused whether this was a flash mob or a TikTok.
To be fair to LIV’s marketers, how do you differentiate between a flash mob and a TikTok? https://t.co/0YSlBd44dB

And some comments were just plain sarcastic!
So, you don't like the LIV flash mob, eh? Wait 'til Valderrama next year. https://t.co/wKDcbNUBqE
