Golf World Goes Berserk Over Unearthed Photo of Tiger Woods and Snoop Dogg

Tiger Woods has often kept his friend circle away from the eyes of the media. But did you know he is on a first-name basis with none other than American popstar and celebrated rapper, Snoop Dogg?! A photo of the duo has been unearthed from the early 2000’s, which highlights the pair’s camaraderie and fans have been going berserk over it.

The outlandish photo was taken at Spike TV’s Annual Video Game Awards in 2004. The event was the second of its edition and went on to become a cult series for gaming award shows.

For the 2004 awards ceremony, Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour 2005 was considered for the category of Best Sports Game of the Year. In his prime back then, Tiger decided to accept the invitation and dressed up in an over-the-top outfit. It was unusual considering his routine attire on the golf course.

The former World No.1 put on a fedora hat and was clad in a thick, uncharacteristic fur coat. Underneath the glamour, he wore a signature Nike T-shirt (presumably for the sponsors) and rocked it with a couple of gaudy chains; one of them displaying a sizable dollar sign.

If that wasn’t enough surprise for the day, fans may have been stunned to witness Snoop Dogg’s outfit for the event. Typically known for his flashy ensembles that stun the internet, the veteran celebrity chose an outfit highly unlike him. He wore a simple waistcoat sweater over a collared white T-shirt, with a simple hat on top.

The surprising photos from the giants of two different industries sent fans into a frenzy. They took to Twitter to discuss it.

A basic outfit was probably the code for Snoop Dogg, considering he was the host of the show. The two spent some time during the rehearsals of the event, with Snoop Dog checking out one of Tiger’s golf clubs. The pair signed a few autographs from nearby fans before eventually checking out for the show.

Unfortunately for Woods, the PGA Tour 2005 failed to win the best sports award that year, pipped by EA’s Madden NFL 2005. He would have to wait for another 6 years for his game to be crowned as the Best Individual Sports Game, when the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 won the category in 2010.
