How could someone scam a legend like Annika Sorenstam? What does this say about our society?

Annika Sorenstam fans may need to stay vigilant! On course, the LPGA Tour star has started her clinic for the next generation through her ANNIKA Foundation. However, off the course, she has a scammer making scary money requests from people on Venmo. The incident was brought to light via Mike McGee just a few hours ago.

McGee took to his Instagram and warned Sorenstam’s fans about a particular scammer named Christopher Dibiase. He posted a screenshot of money requests done by the scammer. They asked for $500 first and then for another $1 to confirm their cell number. According to their story, they used to do catering for Sorenstam and were desperate for some assistance.

However, McGee expressed that their claims were wrong and warned the people, saying, “He is asking people for money. It is a scam and we have no clue who he is.” From his statements, it can be assumed that except for McGee, the scammer probably had reached out to many others using Sorenstam’s name and claiming a part relationship with her.

This could be a fix for the fans as well, in case the scammer contacts anyone for requests using Sorenstam. But this might not be a singular incident. Another user revealed that how on social media sites, it has become quite common for people to adopt fake names and relationships while soliciting money. They frustratingly said, “They’re all over every social media app out there trying to scam people.” Even Paige Spiranac had warned her followers about scammers using her face and asked them to not send any money.

So, if you see a Dibiase asking for money on Venmo and somehow saying that they were Annika Sorenstam’s cater, block them immediately! As it stands, you might get scammed as Mike McGee has warned beforehand and never see your money back.
