In the press conference ahead of the LIV’s fifth leg, a reporter asked Watson about his take on where LIV will be 10 years from now. He also questioned him about what he thinks of his legacy with the Saudi-funded league.

Watson went ahead and appreciated LIV’s very much-discussed business model and the team model of the league. “I believe that golf was kind of stale and the only sport that I saw that was missing team atmosphere.” Commenting on the LIV’s legacy, he said, “So there’s a lot of dreams and aspirations and a lot of things that we’ve already accomplished in less than a year, but we still want to keep going forward.”

Mentioning the legacy he will leave behind, he said, “Legacy-wise, I just want to be part of something that was amazing, I believe in. I believe in the right steps and what we are taking.” Watson said that he is happy being part of something big and “ten years from now, it will be a different conversation”
