Emotions often run high in sports. Often, a win for one counts as a loss for the other. Therefore, a small push towards instigation is enough to send the two sections clashing. However, drama has almost evaded golf. The serene game has never been at the helm of hotheads and fist bouts. However, a recent Mississippi incident, which resulted in a disfigured nose, could change perceptions.

Mississippi turns ugly over nose-biting due to golf argument
According to a story from the New York Post, a 51-year-old man allegedly attacked his golf buddy’s nose after an altercation between them. It all started when Mark Wells, of Biloxi, partnered with the victim on the golf course.
According to witnesses and the victim himself, the duo played at the Bridges Golf Course on Monday morning. However, a particular incident left the pair arguing, which extended long after their golf excursion.
While the incident wasn’t revealed, it must have been a bitter one for Wells. The pair kept squabbling at a nearby casino till night, which is when the shackles broke loose.

In a bizarre attack, Wells decided the quarrel was enough and bit his mate’s nose. It took place at the casino’s parking lot, which allowed the assailant to flee from the scene in a Tesla. According to the Bay St. Louis police, the ambush occurred at around 21:30 and left the victim with a disfigured face.
Was justice served to the hit-and-run man?
Since fleeing from the scene, Wells remained off the radar for two days before turning himself in on Wednesday morning. Immediately, police took him to the Hancock County jail.
According to the police, Wells has been charged with felony mayhem and could face up to seven years in prison if convicted. However, he was reported to have been released shortly later after paying 10% down of the $50,000 bond himself.
The incident must have squashed any chance of the pair teaming up together for another roundabout of golf! However, it shows that emotions run high in every sport, even in golf.
