Scottie Scheffler, World No. 1, a nine-time PGA Tour winner and two-time Masters champion, had a private jet on standby for any emergencies with his wife Meredith’s labor. Additionally, the champion even promised to pull out at Masters if his wife called upon him. Meredith, who usually travels with the golfer when he competes, is back home in Dallas, awaiting the birth of their first child later this month. Even so, this was the first time in ages that Meredith was not by her husband’s side on the greens. Scheffler’s high school sweetheart had shown her immense support and played a crucial role in the golfer’s life.
The 27-year-old tasted victory with an 11-under-par finish and carded seven birdies to finish his final round with a score of 4-under. With this four-shot triumph, Scheffler confirmed in the press conference that “I will go home and soak up this victory tonight.” Also, his emotional post-win message to his darling wife stated, “I’m coming home. I’ll be home as quick as I can.” I love you, and I’m coming home.” Schffeler was eager to rush back to his wife as soon as he could! But did he?
When the 2024 Masters winner got back to Dallas, he paid a visit to the Inwood Tavern, which is one of his hometown’s old-school bars. In a social media post shared by ‘breezygolf’, Scheffler was seen with his buddies celebrating the big moment. And this contradiction of words caused a head spin for the golf fans!

Golf fans were obviously expecting Scheffler to be a good boy and go straight home after work. “Thought he was rushing home for Meredith?” said one fan commenting on the social media post.
Scheffler made several statements during the Masters about how anxious he was to get home to his wife. He became the ultimate family man of the golf world until he wrapped his arms around his friends in a bar rather than being at home with his pregnant wife. A fan expressed his sarcasm very creatively and wrote down, “Meredith: “Scott I just think it’s funny that…”
He was ready to give it all up! His declaration at the Augusta National about his priorities was sidelined as per the next fan, who commented,” I thought the Masters was unfulfilling cause he just wanted to get home to his wife? “ mocking the Masters winner for what he said earlier about rushing back home.

It’s not surely that bad to chill out with your buddies after you win $3.6 million. However, in the case of Scottie Scheffler, golf fans are seeing that as a sin. The sarcasm flows further with another golf enthusiast writing, “Ima be home as soon as I can.”
“Hahahah! He’s one of us! 👏 ” said another fan. Maybe it’s just a guy thing. The universal truth about how much a man wants to hang around their friends, and how much more…if they just put the glorious green jacket on!
