Golf has played a big role in Trump’s life, both personally and professionally. He’s heavily invested in the sport, owning numerous golf courses around the world, and has even won several tournaments himself. During his first term as president, Trump spent a significant amount of time on the golf course, playing at least 142 times, according to Forbes.

It was a special day for President Donald Trump on the golf course. On Sunday, Trump shared on Truth Social that he won a golf tournament at his club in Palm Beach County, Florida. He mentioned that it would likely be his “last” win at the event.

“I just won the Golf Club Championship, probably my last, at Trump International Golf Club, in Palm Beach County, Florida. Such a great honor! The Awards dinner is tonight, at the Club,” he wrote. “I want to thank the wonderful Golf Staff, and all of the many fantastic golfers, that participated in the event. Such fun!”

The Men’s Club Championship took place on Sunday, and President Trump added another victory to his record. He had previously won similar tournaments in 2023 and 2024, sharing both triumphs on Truth Social. In 2023, Trump described his win as more than just a tournament victory, calling it “a physical exam”, only MUCH tougher.

However, given his previous reputation with his golf game claims, the fans did not believe him this time.

The Golf Community could not stop laughing at Donald Trump’s claims

Donald Trump is known for his impressive golf course skills. He has often been proud of his abilities, even engaging in a heated debate with Joe Biden over their respective golf handicaps before the Democrat decided to step back from the recent election. While Trump is recognized as a strong amateur golfer, his behavior and etiquette on the course have been criticized. In 2019, sports author Rick Reilly explored the former President’s relationship with golf in his book Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump

The book delves into the allegations of cheating that have followed Trump throughout his golfing career. Reilly doesn’t hold back in his assessment, stating, “To say ‘Donald Trump cheats’ is like saying ‘Michael Phelps swims.’ He cheats at the highest level. He cheats when people are watching, and he cheats when they aren’t. He cheats whether you like it or not.” Taking to this, a lot of the fans made fun of him and did not believe his claims. One of them commented, “Unless he is playing off the ladies forward tees he wouldn’t break 80.” Another sarcastically wrote, “Of course he did.”

One of them even shared an old viral video of Donald Trump swinging his club. It was so terrible that the ball went exactly in the opposite side of the hole, and landed in the water. Taking to that, they wrote, “With a swing like this yea I don’t think so.” He shared the news after the sad news at the PLAYERS Championship. The final round of The Players Championship was temporarily halted on Sunday due to lightning at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

To finish the tournament before the approaching storms, tee times were moved up. However, play was suspended at 1:15 p.m. ET (5:15 p.m. GMT) as rain and thunder began rolling in. The storm, which has been wreaking havoc across the Midwest and South, caused violent tornadoes and resulted in at least 35 fatalities since Friday. The system is expected to bring severe weather to more than 60 million people, stretching from Pennsylvania to Florida, as it moves eastward.

The PGA Tour had predicted storms would reach the Stadium Course between 3 and 5 p.m., prompting an earlier start at 8 a.m. ET, more than three hours earlier than usual, to avoid a potential Monday finish—something that hasn’t happened since 2022. Play is scheduled to resume at 5:15 p.m. ET (9:15 p.m. GMT), with all ticket holders allowed entry using their original tickets, as announced by tournament officials at 4:26 p.m. ET. After Donald Trump made such allegedly false claims, one of the fans mocked him by saying,  I won the Players then I woke up!” They hinted that it was a dream. While another could not stop their laughter and simply commented, “Lol”.
