Team USA this year at the Solheim Cup started with a bang. The team headed by captain Stacy Lewis daringly won all four foursomes on Friday, with Lexi Thompson leading the American charge and proving her mettle not a little. Meghan Khang also showcased her worth on the greens.
The crowning moment for Team America on Friday came when Allisen Corpuz, the reigning US Women’s Open champion, sealed the 4-0 foursomes victory with a finishing putt.
On the second day of competition, the US and Europe tied at 8-8 as they headed into the decisive singles matches. Winning 8 out of next 12 games was nothing short of extraordinary for Suzann Pettersen’s team.
Now, as the finale approaches, American LPGA stars aim to prevent Europe from achieving a three-peat in the Sunday singles matches, where all 12 members from each team will compete head-to-head. Fans are feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation. Here are some of their reactions ahead of the final round.
