Is America overreacting to Trump's win, or is Hailey Ostrom right about moving on?

“Why is everyone acting like this is the end of the world?” This is not us asking but Hailey Ostrom, the golfing influencer who was once dubbed Paige Spiranac’s rival. Coming back to the question, rhetorical as it may have been, the athlete was alluding to the events that took place last day after the election results were declared.

“Wakin’ up this morning, I couldn’t believe how many people are tripping,” said Ostrom as she shared a video of herself on her Instagram story. “So, I’m just here to tell you, get a grip, life is going on… Okay?! We have already had four years of [Donald] Trump.” The 78-year-old politician had become the 45th President of the United States by beating Hillary Clinton back in 2017. Now, he has claimed the moniker of the 47th POTUS in 2024 by defeating Kamala Harris.

But did she stop there? Not even close… Hailey Ostrom then went ahead to point out how the country was fine the first time around when the businessman became the President and it will continue to do so. “Like… The aliens didn’t come attack us,” said the diva before reiterating, “Get a grip! It’s not that serious. You’re fine, you’re gonna be fine.” Seems like the 30-year-old was truly concerned about the kind of reactions that supporters of presidential candidate Kamala Harris had after her loss.

Even so, that didn’t stop Ostrom from putting on a ‘What even?!’ expression as she said, “People are crying and I’m like… Is this our biggest issue in America? Goddang, we are privileged.” The influencer then went ahead to point out how she is not making fun of anyone while highlighting Kamala Harris supporters before going ahead to comfort them.

“If you are someone who voted for Kamala [Harris],” continued Hailey Ostrom, “And you just lost this election and you’re so upset, just get a grasp on reality for a second.” She then asked them to turn off the news, look back on the years Donald Trump was POTUS, from 2017 to 2021, and contemplate how much of a different or negative life they had back then. “I think most of you would say life was pretty much the same or was normal,” said the golfer as she reassured them, “You guys will be fine, you’ll be fine.” Interestingly, she wasn’t the only person from the golfing community who was vocal about the elections. Enter LIV Golf Pro Bryson DeChambeau!

Bryson DeChambeau makes his stance on Donald Trump clear

A tweet was shared by the X handle of DrunkByTheTurn which showcased the LIV Golf Pro sporting a ‘MAGA’ hat. That is ‘Make America Great Again’, for those of you who don’t know, although that would be minimal. Anyhow, the golfer was spotted supporting the 47th POTUS as he posed for a picture which was then reshared on social media.

What’s your perspective on:

Is America overreacting to Trump's win, or is Hailey Ostrom right about moving on?

Have an interesting take?

Those of you who followed the results would know how the golfer’s role didn’t stop there. Donald Trump, after winning the election, went ahead to call Bryson DeChambeau up to the stage, in a hilarious manner of sorts. Seems like this time, the politician was all set to continue their collaboration on the stage instead of the course. Although, as Hailey Ostrom mentioned, many would have been devastated by the results, the golfer’s fans, however, would have been exhilarated seeing him on stage with the next President of the United States.
