How does a professional athlete manage to combine the thrills of parenting with the desire to be the best? Since making her professional golf debut in 2011, Jessica Korda, a six-time LPGA Tour winner, has stood out in the women’s golf community. Jessica comes from a family of athletes: her sister, Nelly Korda, is now the highest-ranked female golfer in the world, and her father, Petr Korda, was a former tennis standout. Despite this, Jessica has established an excellent career for herself.

Among her noteworthy triumphs are championships at the 2018 Honda LPGA Thailand and the 2012 Women’s Australian Open. However, a chronic back condition forced Korda to leave the LPGA Tour in May 2023, and she subsequently revealed she was expecting. This break paved the way for a new phase of her life, combining the pleasures of parenthood with the difficulties of recuperation. Lets explore more about this!

Looking ahead: The 2026 LPGA Tour comeback of Jessica Korda

As Jessica embraces the pleasures and difficulties of parenting, the golfer has also been thinking about playing golf professionally again. During Golf Channel’s broadcast of the Grant Thornton Invitational, Korda stated that she intends to return to the LPGA Tour in 2026. She stated, “I’m definitely itching to be able to play again, how much, I’m not so sure. I’ll take 2025 to assess and then per our maternity, 2026 is kind of what we’re shooting for.”

The LPGA’s maternity policy allows players to resume competition up to two years after the birth of their child, giving Korda the freedom to manage both her recuperation and motherhood. “It’s been a year and some months that I didn’t hit any golf balls at all. It’s tough, my shoulder hurt, my forearm, my wrist, my glute muscles, that I hadn’t activated in that way for such a long time” she said, looking back on her recent practice sessions.

It’s a grind, so I feel like patience is always being tested just like it would be out on the golf course, being a mom” she noted.

The difficult balance between one’s private affairs and one’s professional objectives is best illustrated by Jessica Korda’s journey. The golfing community is excitedly awaiting her return in 2026, motivated by her perseverance and commitment as a player and mother. Are you excited too for Korda’s comeback?
