Just when it seemed like an end for Michael S. Kim’s golfing career, his zeal to keep grinding kicked in at the right moment. Currently playing at the Black Desert Championship, Kim knows well that he needs to keep up with his game. But why does this sound like a necessity? Well, because it is! This season has been a rough one for Kim. He participated in 24 tournaments this year but, unfortunately, hasn’t finished first in any of them.
While his degrading performance is one reason, what made it worse for the golfer was his injury, which added to the substantial delay in his victory. The 31-year-old pro currently holds the 116th position in the FedEx Cup rankings with 325 points. Although he is at risk of missing the playoffs if he doesn’t break into the top 70, he is still within the top 150, which means he can potentially retain his PGA Tour membership for 2025. However, he needs to finish in the top 150 during the FedEx Cup fall to keep his status, whether as a permanent member or under a special temporary arrangement. This ultimately makes his participation in every tournament very crucial, including the ongoing Black Desert Championship.
So far, the golfer has seen many ups and downs, but despite all that, he remains relentless in confronting defeat. Giving an update to his fans’ Michael S. Kim recently took to his X handle and posted, “All this pain will be worth it when I break thru… gotta keep climbing.”
