The captain of Ripper GC, Cameron Smith, is playing at the Real Club Valderrama for the LIV Golf Andalucía event. Although Smith’s player ranking in the LIV charts is 8th, his team’s standings are only 4th among the others. They have won two back-to-back LIV Golf events this season, LIV Adelaide and LIV Singapore.
However, this was not the first time that the golf world faced something like that. According to TMZ, the English professional golfer Ian Poulter, who joined LIV Golf, once admitted to TMZ Sports that he was the one who tooted during the broadcast of the Travelers Championship in June 2020. He later joked about it by saying, “I guess it’s one way to protect social distancing!” The golfer also warned the players to be aware of the live mics that are present everywhere.
When the fans noticed this Cam Smith mishap, they did not hesitate to go about humorously discussing the matter.

One of the fans stated, “Cam Smith let’s one Rip-per GC.” Playing on words, the fan used a pun to explain how the captain of LIV Golf’s Ripper GC implemented the name with actions on the greens. The team, however, has thought the ‘Ripper’ ideal for their team of Australians. In their official team profile, they had added, “Ripper! Now there’s a word that couldn’t be more Aussie!” However, with the latest turn of events, the community might get a laugh out of it with renewed meaning.

“Golf, but stinkier,“ said another fan. When the fans are looking for some serious action on the greens and an act like breaking the wind happens, no one can keep their calm. Thus, the fans called out Smith for playing golf all right, but they additionally called the whole act ‘Stinkier.’
Yet another fan commented, “Par putt? More like par butt.” The video that surfaced online and was shared by NUCLR Golf recorded the commentator uttering, “There’s Cam, to the par putt.“ And exactly a few fractions of seconds after Smith’s ripper was heard, the last three words of the commentator were also recorded. However, the fans went on to use it to better explain the situation that was going on on the greens.
Another fan wrote, “Finally understand the @rippergc_ logo. It’s a pair of blown-out boxer shorts.” The meaning of Ripper GC’s logo was compared with a blown boxer given Smith’s Ripper act! However, the team derived its logo’s inspiration from its united national identity. According to Mike McAllister, “Logo’s chevron arrows are inspired by Southern Cross on Aussie flag 🇦🇺.”

Last but not least, one fan even hollered at LIV Golf altogether. They said, “One sound to perfectly sum up liv’s existence.” LIV Golf has been getting quite a few setbacks for a while now. Moreover, the latest tension with the PGA Tour-PIF merger is concerning their standings to a great degree. However, LIV Golf had also been getting some of their accomplishments and initiations. With DeChambeau’s US Open win this season and Norman’s announcement of home courses for each team, their position might expect a ray of hope. However, not all the fans will be able to form their opinions of LIV Golf in the same light.
