Brooks Koepka's dad moment at the Open—proof he's the most relatable golfer on tour?

“Balancing birdies and baby time” has been Brooks Koepka’s motto. Crew Koepka, about to turn a year old later this month, has often been stealing the limelight. Be it Jena Sims surprising Koepka by bringing in Jr. Koepka to the PGA Championship dinner in May, or at the LIV Golf Nashville, where he took a funny dig at Bryson DeChambeau.

Despite struggling on the course recently, Crew’s presence serves as the sunshine in Brooks Koepka’s life and continues to be a source of motivation. This was evident in the last few games where Crew accompanied his dad on the greens, and will likely have the same effect in the upcoming fourth Major championship.

The Open Championship is right around the corner. Just like every other major, all the players are already on the course with their families, practicing to get a hang of the venue. Brooks Koepka too was present on Monday, and he had his best supporter with him – Crew Koepka.

The Open Championship shared a snippet of the father-son duo from the greens on the official Instagram account. In the video, as Koepka tried putting his bomb, Jr. Koepka was in his pram, watching his father swing. Between the shots, Koepka went to his son, played a little, and then continued his shot. They even captioned it, “Dad duties at Royal Troon.”

Brooks Koepka has not been having a great year so far. He dropped below the Top-25 list in all three Majors of the season and had an under-par score only at the PGA Championship. The Smash GC Captain has also just won one event on the LIV Golf schedule this year (Singapore). Wishing for him to get back to contention and bring back a trophy home, his fans are in full swing, trying to motivate him.

While one of them, expressing their desire to see him back in form wrote, “I hope Brooks will play well this week, majors are always more exciting when he is in contention.” Another, complimenting his swing, commented, “Goatka in full form. Bring it home baby!”

But it was not Brooks Koepka’s swing that took center stage, it was eleven-month-old Crew resting on the pram, as Koepka practiced through the rounds. Before his 2024 LIV Singapore win, Brooks Koepka had his last victory at the 2023 LIV Golfers Orlando when Jena Sims was pregnant with Crew. However, every time his family has been there to witness him play, he has failed to deliver great performances. But his win in Singapore was what gave him confidence as a father.

Brooks Koepka gave the credit of being happier than ever after a win to his son Crew. That is how great a father he has been. And now, watching him take care of his son in between his gameplay was what melted the hearts of his fans. They left comments like “Such a great daddy” and “So adorable ❤️”, after seeing the duo on the greens.

Crew Koepka was born premature, arriving seven weeks earlier than expected after Sims underwent an emergency C-section. He spent the initial few days in the NICU, a difficult time for the couple. Now, at eleven months old, he is resilient and often seen wearing a charming cushioned LIV Golf helmet. While one of them, taking to the several health complications that baby Koepka has been going through commented, “God Bless Crew 🙏”. Another taking to the helmet wrote, “@bkoepka, love the helmet on the kiddo 🔥🔥🔥”.

Do you think Crew Koepka will once again bring luck for Brooks Koepka, and the LIV Golfer will finally be able to grab the last opportunity of lifting a Majors trophy this season? Let us know in the comments section below!
