Ever since the deal was announced last Tuesday, there has been a lot of anticipation around a lot of things, such as the future of LIV Golf, the future of the TGL league, and the terms of the PGA Tour-PIF deal. Thanks to Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, he cleared people’s doubts around the TGL league, and if now reports are to be believed, the future of LIV Golf is also certain.
As per the Sports Illustrated reports, the captains of many LIV teams have been contacted by LIV management to assure them of their decisions. The two-time major champion, Martin Kaymer, spoke to the Telegraph and said that PIF’s governor called him post-announcement and congratulated him for making the right decision and trusting the league. The German golfer was among the first few golfers who joined the league back in 2022, when it was inaugurated.
Kaymer expressed disagreement in the same interview with PGA Tour players who voiced criticism regarding the agreement made by Monahan and the board members with the PIF. He called out all the PGA Tour pros who have said mean things, such as playing for bloody money, about LIV players in the past. “I’m really looking forward now to the reaction of all the people who said, “We don’t want to play for blood money. We don’t want to sell our soul.”
He also said that if PGA Tour pros want to be “true to their words,” they should start playing on the Japan Golf Tour. Kaymer’s statement was posted by popular Twitter accounts Flushing It and NUCLR GOLF.
Kaymer: “I’m really looking forward now to the reaction of all the people who said “we don’t want to play for blood money. .. we don’t want to sell our soul,’’Well, now they need to move to Japan (and play on the Japan Golf Tour) in order to stay true to their word.’’ 🎯 https://t.co/khXPxLvAOc

The 2014 US Open champion’s comments about the PGA Tour players garnered a lot of reaction and were not well received by the fans. Many fans had a lot to say with respect to the extent of choice that the PGA Tour golfers got.
Fans react to Kaymer’s strong words for PGA Tour pros
It is indeed true that golfers on the PGA Tour and the European PGA Tour did not get much choice, as they were kept in the dark about the deal. Even the golfing legend, Tiger Woods was not made aware of the deal. Let us look at some of the comments that fans left in support of the PGA Tour golfers:
They chose to go play for them. PGA players have no choice. And LIV as you know it is toast.

There is a huge difference between choosing to play for blood money than being forced to because the tour sold you out.

These players had a choice. The PGA players who stayed don’t, but they need to make a living.
