In March 2022, Stenson was appointed as the captain for the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome. Four months later, the golf pro made a jump to the Saudi-backed league. As per a Sky Sports report in August last year, the Swedish player lasted only 127 days before he was stripped of his title. This was done because of his choice to join LIV in July.
