In yet another discussion that has caught the attention of the golf world, the fans are debating about whether a pushcart on the green is acceptable or not. To nobody’s surprise, the golf fans are divided on this. It all started when a golf enthusiast’s achievement was shared in a photo by a PGA Professional on social media.

While one group supports the idea of carts on the green, others abhor it completely. But are the rules broken, or is it one of those times where people are overreacting? Let’s find out.

A man scored a hole-in-one and then posed to capture the moment. This would be a memorable and exciting occasion for any golfer, more so for an amateur. Steve Scott, the founder of Silver Club Golfing Society and Certified PGA Professional, posted a photo via X of this man.

Steve asked the fans if the pull cart should be on the greens. The fans rejected the idea. One called the ace as “null and void” while the other added a 2-stroke penalty.

What is interesting, however, is that some golf courses do allow carts on the green. However, the people decided to make their own rules and judge the individual. As the tweet started gaining traction, Golf Digest shared the instance on their Instagram asking Instagram golf fans to share their thoughts. The fans here were on the side of the innocent man.

The man looked happy with his achievement, yet the public on X did not seem to like it. However, the recent comments on Instagram would have lifted the man’s spirits as they were mostly in his favor. Here are a few hand-picked reactions.

‘Try knowing physics’: Golf fan comes to the rescue of a stranger

One fan defended the man by calling science to his aid, “Foot puts more pressure on the green than a push cart. All these 🤡 comments about “knowing golf”. Try knowing physics.”

Another went on to explain that “some courses (like chambers bay or some others) they actually WANT you to push your cart over the greens and not the fringes. So that’s hopefully the case 😂.”

While this one fan did not even want people walking on the green, he commented saying, “Shouldn’t even walk on the green, honestly.” We wonder how one would putt in such a situation.

Another recognized the course and said, This is Hazeltine. Pretty sure he knows what he can and can’t do there, keyboard warriors.”

One fan decided to meet the man halfway, pointing out how they were against it while also putting forward a case that supported the man’s move: “Probably shouldn’t do that, but I can’t imagine those things do any damage to the green. It’s not like driving a cart up on one.”

Another fan also pointed out pushcarts do very little damage to the green: “Pushcart does way less damage than the average weekend golfer” and suggested the angry birds, ‘chill out’.

This fan called out the people claiming it was wrong and said “95% of the people complaining don’t fix their pitch marks on the greens.”

One fan asked to “give him a break,” while another noted that “people just like to get upset.”
