So, what’s new in the golf world? Well, for starters, Byeong Hun An just pulled off an epic comeback to win the Genesis Championship! The South Korean golfer sunk an 8-foot birdie putt on the final hole to force a playoff with Tom Kim and then nailed another birdie on the par-5 18th to seal the deal.
This win is An’s second European tour title, coming nine years after his first. What a way to cap off an incredible year! The Korean sensation had five top 10s on the PGA Tour and made the Presidents Cup team. His victory catapults him to No. 27 in the world rankings, a whopping jump from No. 60 at the start of the year. Tom Kim came close but bogeyed the 18th in the playoff. Ricardo Gouveia of Portugal finished third, securing his European tour card for next year – a huge boost from No. 154 in the Race to Dubai but it’s not just that.
The special thing is that Byeong Hun An got a special congratulatory message from one of his closest friends and golf musician Sam Harrop. Harrop is keeping his promise to An by delivering a musical tribute to celebrate the golfer’s latest win!

Great to see the legend back in the winner’s circle. 🏆”, read the caption.

Sam Harrop’s rise to fame
You might already know Sam Harrop if you are a golf fan because he’s already a beloved figure in the golf landscape. He’s comparable to Weird Al Yankovic but for golf. Harrop’s funny songs about golfers have taken the internet by storm. His first hit, “When Will Tony Finau Win Again?”, made Finau himself laugh. Harrop’s songs poke fun at golf’s biggest stars and stories and even stepped into Phil Mickelson’s controversy with the Saudi Golf League with the title “Growing the Game”.
