A golfer is defined by the shots he takes and the putts he makes! From long drives to far-off putts, golf pros who can go the distance are deemed to be the best of the best. And yet, not many have achieved what a one-time PGA Tour winner did just hours ago during the second round of the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship. After all, his swing left his driver headless and drove the fans to lose their minds!
PGA Tour pro takes a driver-breaking swing
While the majority of the PGA Tour’s top players face off against each other one-on-one in Austin this week, the remainder of the Tour stars take the course at the Corales Golf Club in the Dominican Republic for the Corales Puntacana Championship. The PGA Tour pro cemented his name on the Tour by winning the RSM Classic in 2019. He has since been looking to double his wins and this week’s splendid performance seems to be pushing him in that direction. He seems unstoppable, and not even a broken driver can get in his way.

During the second round of the event, the golf pro was at the 15th hole when something astonishing occurred. As soon as he struck the ball, his driver’s head flew along with it. While broken clubs aren’t uncommon, the splendid part of the incident was that Duncan’s shot still reached the fairway, eventually leading to a birdie at the hole!
Golf world goes berserk over Duncan’s shot
The unbelievable shot certainly came out of the blue. The commentators couldn’t believe it, and neither could the fans. Taking to the video of the shot that the PGA Tour posted on Instagram, they flooded the comments section with how taken aback they were by the shot. “That’s amazing!” wrote one fan.

Fans were also intrigued by what the broken Titleist driver head meant for the company’s personnel at the event. “Somebody gunna get fired in the Titleist van,” commented one fan hilariously. Another wrote, “Dudes on the tour truck sweating rn.” “Guy in the tour van is going to get reamed,” said yet another, pitying the Titleist people.
Some fans even recalled a similar instance they too had been through. “I’ve had that happen with an iron. It’s the weirdest feeling!” said one golf enthusiast. Yet another commented, “Happened to me once. It feels crazy.”
