The wait is over! U.S. Presidents Cup captain Jim Furyk has made his final selections and has revealed the 12-man team that will represent America in the prestigious tournament. To extend the United States’ winning streak, Furyk’s carefully chosen squad is ready to take on the best golfers from around the world, and as always fans do not like the selection but maybe this time they have a good reason.
NUCLR GOLF just posted the final twelve names on their X account who will represent the American hopes at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada from September 24-29. The names included: Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, Sahith Theegala, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Russell Henley, 2025 Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, Brian Harman, and Max Homa.
Fans are upset with the President’s Cup team picks. Many can’t believe that deserving players such as Bryson DeChambeau and other LIV Golf players were left out. Justin Thomas was also surprisingly snubbed of the opportunity and the fans are turning into advocates for all the left golfers. JT’s snub is a shocker as last year, despite very average performances, he made it to the Ryder Cup squad.

Jim Furyk’s captain’s picks have raised the average age of the U.S. team, yet it remains the third-youngest in Presidents Cup history. The six captain’s picks have an average age of 34.2, compared to 28.8 for the automatic qualifiers. Notably, Sam Burns, 28, is the only pick under 30 and has been in impressive form achieving the lowest combined score in the FedExCup Playoffs. Let us see what the golf community is saying about the final team.

“Awful captain picks”, said one fan taking a jab at Furyk. Furyk’s selection is questionable, without a doubt and fans are ready to rain hell on him. Jim Furyk had some tough conversations to make, breaking the news to Justin Thomas and Billy Horschel that they wouldn’t be returning to the U.S. team. He also had to disappoint Akshay Bhatia, who was eager to make his debut. This fan raised the question that is probably going on in everyone’s might right now. “How do you not take Thomas but you take Max homa ??????”.
Justin Thomas was the big surprise left off the U.S. team. He’s been a star in these events, but this time he’s stuck watching from home. A tough 2023 season hurt his chances, even though he’s been playing much better lately and has secured 5 top-10 performances. Thomas knew it was a long shot, saying “Some deserving guys will get left behind.” Sadly, he was one of them and fans understood that. “Homa over JT is a joke”, said another fan adding fuel to the fire.
And well, Homa did have a fairly bad season this year. He finished dead last at T70 not one but two times this year and missed the cuts three times. Another good choice could have been Bryson DeChambeau, well at least that’s what fans think. “@b_dechambeau is better than every one of these guys except for maybe the top 2, maybe.” said another angry fan.

Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka, two of golf’s biggest stars, won’t be representing Team USA at the Presidents Cup. Despite DeChambeau’s recent US Open win and Koepka’s impressive Ryder Cup performance last year, they’re sidelined for this event. After joining LIV Golf, they’re ineligible for PGA Tour events, which means they can’t earn FedEx Cup points or qualify for the team. And although they could have been considered for a captain’s pick, fans are just sad to see that they were not. One fan was shocked to see notable names missing and wrote, “Whut? No Koepca? No DeChambeau?? No DJ??? THE BULLSH*T IS SELF-EVIDENT.”
But now nothing can be done as it is official now. What do you think of Jim Furyk’s selection? Let us know in the comment section below!
