The golf great has won five Masters titles, in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2019. But which win remains the closest to Woods? The golfer himself was asked the question recently, and he came up with an emotional answer.

“Really can’t,” the golf legend claimed when asked to rank his wins at the Masters. “I will just say that… the Masters has come full circle for me… from ‘97 to 2019. Have my dad there, first one, and then, first person to hug me… and then, the first person to hug me was my son. So, it doesn’t more special than that,” an emotional Woods said.

Woods’ special victories at the Masters

Despite turning down the chance to rank his favorite Masters wins, the golf great has already won the hearts of his fans with his victories. His 1997 victory was Woods’ first-ever major championship win, but it broke several age-old records at the tournament.

The margin of that win, by a massive 12 strokes, remains the event’s biggest-ever victory. In the decade to come, Woods dominated the sport, winning the majority of his major championships. It included his consecutive wins at the Masters in 2001 and 2002, while he won the 2005 edition through a playoff.
