And with luck’s great stroke, West had an unexpected experience on Pebble Beach last week which summarized her career experience in a sweet and nostalgic way.
Apparently, Wie West was amazed to see a very young girl on the course and went to ask her age. The resulting conversation left her nostalgic.
Michelle said in the show – “When I was there the week before, I played a practice round. Yeah, she was young, so I just went up to her and I was like, ‘How old are you?’ and she’s like, ‘I’m 14.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, wow, are you the youngest in the field?’ and she’s like, ‘No.’… and then a couple of holes went by and I was like, ‘Hey, you know what? I can be your mom.’ And I was like, ‘Wait a second, people have definitely said this to me on tour before.’ It was a moment that came full circle.”
It would be a surreal moment for any player who would reach a stage in their career where they could mentor the younger generation. This left West nostalgic after her performance at the event.

The golfer bid a teary-eyed goodbye to the sport. “It was great to have my last round here at Pebble Beach. It definitely feels surreal right now.” Later she was bombarded with messages from fans and fellow players who expressed their sadness on seeing her going and wished her luck for the future.
Though she may not have been able to win the tournament, the golf world will never forget her amazing contributions to the sport. Michelle has not only made an outstanding career but also set an example for all young girls to chase their dream and become even better.
