With its glory and might, the 2024 Presidents Cup has come to an end. And without a doubt, the team that was expected to win has taken the trophy once again. The 14th Presidents Cup winner was none other than Team USA! The 12 men battled hard against the International Team and after four days, put up the 18.5 points for the men in red, white, and blue to celebrate at the Royal Montreal Golf Club.
Unlike the 2023 Ryder Cup, which concluded as a heartbreak, the 14th Presidents Cup was a joyous event for the USA, and through it all, they came forward as a team and enjoyed it to the fullest. Over these four days, there have been many memorable moments, but here are the five best of all!
1. First day 5-0

The USA Team has been dominant in the Presidents Cup, but the last time they won 5-0 in a fourball was 30 years ago at the very first Presidents Cup in 1994. It took them three decades to show their prowess, but they did it and sent the International Team grinding their teeth.
Moreover, in the history of the Presidents Cup, the USA has rarely lost only one in 1998 and a tie in 2003, so with such a lead, it was impossible that the American team would have faltered even though the International Team took their sweet revenge on Friday. Nonetheless, the first day of the Presidents Cup was pretty intense, and just a sneak peek of what the Americans had in plans.
2. Ted Scott defending Scottie Scheffler’s wife against crowd comment
The Presidents Cup was supposed to be dramatic, of all things. But it was never supposed to be disrespecting anyone and not the wives of the golfers. On the first day of the patriotic event, while Scottie Scheffler was on the course and trying his very best, his wife, Meredith Scheffler, was on the side and, as always, supporting her husband. During that time, a fan shouted a derogatory remark about the world no. 1’s wife.

While Meredith Scheffler didn’t fight back, Scheffler’s good friend and caddie, Ted Scott, jumped inside the ropes and screamed at the heckler. Moreover, Scheffler’s father also made sure that the spectator didn’t sit through the event for the day and asked the security to take him out of the Royal Montreal Golf Club.
3. Team U.S.A’s spat with Tom Kim
Tom Kim came and delivered what was expected of him. He won two points and lost two, but tied the Sunday Singles against Sam Burns. Although the competition was always there, it went up another notch on the first day itself. Kim with Sungjae Im was against his good bud, Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley. After making a birdie in the four balls at the seventh hole, Kim celebrated big. Then, Scheffler gave back as he halved the hole and sarcastically shouted at the Korean pro, “What was that?” Following the give and take, while Scheffler had not completed his 8th hole, Im and Kim walked off the 8th green to be at the 9th tee box, many in the golf world deemed this unprofessional.
Came Friday and the rivalry Kim started on day 1 didn’t stop. On the second day, the International Team clean sweep 5-0 in the foursomes. Kim was paired with Si Woo Kim against Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay. The South Korean duo won 1 up, but Kim complained of a lack of sportsmanship as he revealed in the press conference that some of the US golfers were cursing them. It took another controversial turn, but as the event ended, Kim cleared the misunderstanding with Team USA and apologized if things came out too negative.
4. Keegan Bradley proving his worth
While the captain’s pick for the 14th Presidents Cup was criticized a bit, Keegan Bradley’s making it to the team was also a little unexpected. But he did, and he proved why he deserved to be on the team. In the Sunday Singles, it all came down to the 6-time PGA Tour winner’s last hole. The scoreline was 1 up and there was a chance that his opponent, Si Woo Kim, might drain a birdie. However, he missed and Bradley won the final point for the USA to lift the Presidents Cup.
That was his second winning point in the 14th edition and after the win, Bradley went around hugged his wife, and his teammate, and just couldn’t believe that he had done it. Hugging Jim Furyk, Bradley emotionally said, “Thanks for picking me, bro… thank you.”
5. Kevin Kisner going topless

The highlight of the final day was Max Homa hitting an eagle at the par-4 hole one as he played against Canada’s favorite, Mackenzie Hughes. Homa showed minimal celebration, but the crowd roared and Kevin Kisner remembered the challenge he had to fulfill. Following the Solheim Cup trend, Homa asked Kisner to go shirtless if he ever eagled a hole in the Presidents Cup.

It didn’t happen for the first three days but the 6-time PGA Tour winner did it in the last. As a result, while the team enjoyed their beers backstage, Kisner removed his t-shirt, cheered loudly “Way to go Max”, and hugged Homa after completing the challenge. The whole team laughed and realized once again the memory they had made.
The Presidents Cup will now come in 2026, but the camaraderie of Team USA will not be missed next year as they will head to Bethpage for revenge against the Europeans and hopefully, win there too!
