The 2024 season was filled with emotion, be it heartbreak or celebration of victories. However, one thing that made all the difference between the two emotions was just a single perfect shot. In the 2024 season, we have seen how one shot destroyed the hope for the title. Take the example of the PNC Championship, Team Langer clinched their sixth title, but with just one shot difference, Team Woods will still be looking out for their first in the next season.

Bryson DeChambeau’s bunker shot at the U.S. Open

DeChambeau’s performance will remain unforgettable. The way he was falling behind Rory McIlroy, but even after having the toughest of situations, he came back strong and showed his skill set. After the tee shot, the ball was on the rough, which made the situation tougher for the LIV golfer, but he shot it and it went into the bunker. The scenario after the bunker was so tense that there was just a stroke difference between the two. Fortunately for DeChambeau, he hit the best shot of the tournament, which was just feet away from the hole.

Watching the ball near the hole, fans and even Dechambeau were pumped. With the final putt, nothing could stop the fans. It was a pure delight, a moment full of emotions. DeChambeau’s excitement for his second title victory contrasted sharply with McIlroy’s discouragement over his ten-year major championship drought.

Charlie Woods Savior Ace for the team

Knowing that Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods practiced together, fans never knew how Tiger Woods improved the junior’s game. During the final round at the PNC Championship, Team Woods was falling behind, that’s when the unexpected hole-in-one happened. Charlie Woods hit the perfect shot following the trajectory and forgiveness of the ball. With just two small bounces, the ball was in the hole.

Hitting his first ace, the 15-year-old wasn’t sure of what had happened, which when later conveyed turned out to be a celebration for the father-son duo. Fans were happy to see Tiger Woods celebrating after years.

Scottie Scheffler’s sixth hole-out

Scottie Scheffler had the best year of his career. Winning 7 titles in 2024, with some great displays of golf. Out of all his shots, there was one which will stick with every golf enthusiast. In the final round of the Players Championship, hole-4 was magic that came out of his club.

He shot a 92-yard hole with water in between. The shot wasn’t just a fluke. It was planned and executed properly with the trajectory and forgiveness. After hitting the green, the ball took a spin towards the left and went into the hole. He added the shot to his list as the 6th hole-out.

Rory McIlroy’s huge bunker save

Though Rory McIlroy has fallen short of his major title, he has for sure left an impact with his performance at the Wells Fargo Championship. The four-time major champion displayed a different mood on the course as he led by at least 5 strokes in the final round.

But, what made the real impact was his shot from a deep bunker that took an eagle putt. The perfect shot which curved after the impact on greens showcased his class. Even the supporters couldn’t stop cheering for him after the incredible shot.

Hideki Matsuyama’s exceptional FedEx St. Jude final round

The drama-filled final round at the FedEx St. Jude showcased the true caliber of the Japanese professional. After the 15th hole miss hits, he dropped from the top to third position, which was not looking possible to cover up. But expect the unexpected. He did not leave the top spot for long since on the very next shot, he showcased a great distance putt to lead again.

Even for the final shot, he gave it all, with the riskier shots near the water. The tee shot and the follow-up shot were nearly into the water as per the spectator, but he managed to keep it on the greens and with just the final putt. He won entry to the BMW Championship.
