With 268 professional starts in her career, Park gave it her all to achieve her dream. In her first two years, she had multiple top-10 finishes but to everyone’s surprise, Park failed to live her dream of winning an LPGA Tour title. That didn’t stop her from trying until the last time she appeared as a professional golfer in 2023.
“The moment a child is born, a mother is also born” – Osho. When Jane Park’s daughter was born, it was like her whole world had changed. In September 2020, Grace Godfrey came into this world surrounded with a lot of love and affection. Although her mom was an LPGA Tour player, she would soon have her complete attention. Park gradually started playing fewer events until 2022. And in 2023, just after 1 tournament, she took retirement from the sport she loved so much. That’s because her priority had shifted to her daughter. She was reborn as a mother. Shockingly, Park and her husband, Pete Godfrey soon learned that Grace has encephalitis, or brain inflammation which has led to disabilities. But through years of love and care, the Godfrey family learned to live according to their daughter’s needs.
The former professional golfer is always seen tending to her daughter. Her posts are filled with Grace having the time of her life indulging in various activities with her mother. Back in November 2024, Park also shared an alarming update that they had to take her daughter to the hospital. The 4-year-old was suffering from seizures and needed to be treated. Fortunately, the ex-LPGA Tour star also shared a positive update that everything was fine a few hours later. Inspired by her daughter’s difficult journey at a young age, Park has created a new Instagram page, ‘Inspired By Grace’, and has also picked up a new hobby, painting.

Park shared her journey on her account. “Hi! I’m Jane. I started painting on a whim in February while watching YouTube videos. I never expected it to bring such immense joy. What began as a simple hobby has taken on a life of its own. I’ve found so much joy in representing disability and celebrating diverse experiences through painting.” Looking at her artwork, she definitely has learned a lot over the past few weeks. Over the month’s time, Park had already painted more than 25 paintings, each better than the other. That would probably explain her progression.
Park also stated “My daughter Grace is the heartbeat of my inspiration and I’m lucky to be steeped in her beauty every day. Thank you for being here! Early paintings are posted first and seeing my art progress is fun to watch. I hope you notice the improvements too!” The helplessness of a parent looking their child pain inspired her to voice out that pain through art, and what better way but paintings to do that with.
