The PGA Tour and the LIV Golf league have been in the middle of a controversy for a long time now. It centers around a proposed $3 billion merger of the Saudi Arabia-backed league and the traditional PGA Tour along with the DP World Tour. The stir in the golfing world began four months ago, when the proposed merger was publicly announced.
However, LIV Golf Founder Greg Norman’s worst nightmare seems to be coming true. The chances of the merger proceeding within the December 31 deadline looking slim to none. Norman has broken his silence on the issue and has even held a telephonic meeting with over 100 LIV Golf staffers to discuss the future of the tour in light of the changes and future possibilities.

LIV Golf – Unwavering Future and Expanding Presence in Australia
In a recent development, Greg Norman reassured his staff that the breakaway golf circuit is here to stay despite the recent announcement of a deal between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. It is to be noted that Norman was not consulted about the peace deal until just moments before it was publicly disclosed.
Despite the PGA Tour chief Jay Monahan expressing doubt about the coexistence of LIV and the PGA Tour, Norman continues to remain optimistic about the future of LIV Golf.
In light of the accusation made by Monahan, Norman said to his staffers, “The spigot is now wide open for commercial sponsorships, blue-chip companies, TV networks. LIV is and will continue to be a standalone enterprise. Our business model will not change. We changed history, and we’re not going anywhere.”
