Johnnie Walker Classic is yet another event that Woods claimed in the year 2000. Tiger won the 2000 Johnnie Walker Classic at Alpine Golf and Sports Club, Bangkok, Thailand. The icing on the cake was Tigers mother belonged to Thailand, so it made his win even more special.

Nevertheless, his caddie, Steve Williams, narrates how once he and Tiger had a near-death escape during that event. He shares an anecdote about how Tiger and he journeyed in a risky way to the golf course every day.

Recently, Steve appeared on a podcast named, Chasing Majors and talked about his and Tigers’ epic helicopter journey back in 2000. He said, “From the hotel where we were staying that we would take a helicopter to the golf course every week from the top of the hotel.”
“And the pilot of the helicopter was an old guy from World War Two, who spoke zero English and he was absolutely amazing. How he navigated to get off the top of those roof.”
He added, “But one day just it just plummeted out of the air. I thought we all thought that was all we’re all gone. He said I’m sorry about that boys took my eye off the John.

Tiger won the 2000 Johnnie Walker Classic in emphatic fashion. He won the event with an overall score of 25-under-par. As a result, won with a three-shot lead. Woods carded a final round of 65, seven-under-par, to win the event at the beautiful golf course.
