Rory McIlroy explains the truth behind his feud with Greg Norman
Greg Norman has been trying his level best to lure out as many players as possible from the PGA Tour. The retired professional golfer also succeeded in his plan to some extent by getting some of the most talented players to play in his league. However, there are some who are standing strong in support of the former tour. And it is almost impossible for Norman to have them on his team.
One of these PGA Tour loyalists is Rory McIlroy. The Irish professional calls himself ‘anti-LIV’ and wants to have no association with the new league whatsoever. McIlroy has also been involved in consistent banter with Norman through his press conferences and media interactions. And he recently talked about the reason behind his statements about the LIV Golf CEO.
McIlroy revealed when he contacted Norman after watching the ESPN documentary about the latter’s collapse during the Masters in 1996, he responded nicely. However, a few weeks in, the golfer heard Norman saying that McIlroy had been “brainwashed by the PGA Tour.”
This comment didn’t sit well with McIlroy.
The golfer was disappointed. He said, “I’m like ‘For f*** sake!’ We’ve had this really nice back-and-forth and he says that about me,” McIlroy stated. “I thought, ‘You know what? I’m going to make it my business now to be as much of a pain in his a** as possible’.”

Thus, he declared himself anti-LIV. But Norman didn’t let the opportunity pass when he got a chance to fire back at Woods and McIlroy, the biggest supporters of the PGA Tour. So the PGA Tour versus LIV Golf issue is nowhere close to ending soon.
