Last week, the PGA Tour’s decision to merge with LIV Golf for nearly $3,000,000,000 after over a year’s worth of drama sent shockwaves through the golf world. Many golf fans pointed fingers at the Tour for backtracking on their previous criticism of the Saudi-backed league. Meanwhile, players, who stayed loyal, also expressed their utter dismay over the announcement. Before the PGAT could successfully pacify fans and golfers, another problem has now been added to their plate.

This time around, the PGAT has been receiving flak from fans due to their alleged callous treatment of golfers’ achievements, namely Matthieu Pavon and Sam Burns. European Tour’s Pavon impressed many on Thursday after making a hole-in-one on No. 15. Despite being the shortest at the LACC, the 15th hole is considered to be one of the toughest on the course.

Golf fans slam the PGAT for their callous ways

After the first round of the US Open ended, fans were disappointed not to find any clips of Matthieu Pavon and Sam Burns’ shots. “Great video of it. What a joke,” wrote one fan. “Post the damn video,” commented another.

Following their sensational aces, the golfers also celebrated in a jubilant manner. Cameras caught Pavon tipping his hat and then sharing a fist bump and hug with his caddie. Burns also celebrated his accomplishment in an equally wholesome manner. Fans would undoubtedly have loved to witness the beautiful moments.

Meanwhile, some golf enthusiasts were slightly kinder, with one writing, “It’s 2023 and after all the LIV drama y’all still don’t understand how the video rights on majors work.
