The reason behind the fight on the golf course

Eddie Orobitg was at Harbour Hills Country Club playing golf with his son when he saw a man and his wife walking on a cart path. Deputies say that Orobitg didn’t like the fact that the couple was walking through the course, and from there, things got worse.

The son of Orobitg claimed that his father had told the pair to move along. The son told that the man got into his father’s face, leading to an argument between the two. He claimed that the man was spat at by his father. After the other man spat back, physical contact was made. That’s when, according to the son, his dad accidentally hit the guy with the golf club.

An arrest complaint states that the victim said an altercation started and Orobitg spat in his face. Officials say that Orobitg then hit the victim in the leg with a golf club, which led to a horrendous brawl.

“Just heard somebody screaming, swearing at us, coming up really fast behind us,” the victim, Joseph Sivak said.

According to the statement, the victim said that Orobitg hit him again with the golf club, this time on the side of his head from behind. Authorities say the man told deputies he tried to protect himself by hitting Orobitg with his water bottle.

“I nearly died, that’s the thing that scared me,” said Sivak.
