The $20 million BMW Championship is currently underway. At the Olympia Fields North Course, the top 50 as per points who earned their spots through the FedEx St. Jude Championship are giving it their all in this penultimate leg of the FedEx Playoff event. While the crowd should be buzzing about the stellar performances of the pros during this stage of the Tour, one man, Jon Rahm, has stood out and stolen the limelight. Unfortunately, it was for his words rather than his actions!

Following in the footsteps of another PGA Tour pro and Ryder Cup teammate, the Spaniard has gone and indulged in profanity on the course. And for the excruciating circumstances that led to him screaming f**k,” sadly, he had no one to blame but himself!

After securing T37 in the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Rahm was a direct qualifier in the group of 50 for the BMW Championship. However, the pressure of the sport and the ever-competitive field now seem to be getting to the 28-year-old, causing him to follow in the footsteps of his 2020 Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton.

The six-time European Tour winner and Englishman has cultivated a hotheaded reputation for himself on the Tour. He’s more than often caught swearing on the course when things go awry. In fact, just last month, Hatton lost his temper and engaged in profanity in order to express his infuriation. When the game didn’t go in his favor and he had to take five extra shots on hole 18 at the Scottish Open, he flaunted his frustration with his middle finger!

And now at the BMW Championship, Rahm seems to be walking the same path. He’s been notably frustrated and losing his regular mental composure on the course throughout the event. And all his annoyance finally reached its peak when, during the first round, he mishit a 182mph shot and ended up screaming “F—-K!!! God damnit!” soon after teeing off.

Despite the mishit, Rahm went on to finish the round 2-under-par for the day. He headed home on Thursday in 17th place on the leaderboard. Surprisingly, this wasn’t the first time the PGA Tour star was seen losing his cool on the course, and perhaps this trend may leave him with a reputation similar to Hatton’s.

The world no. 3, Jon Rahm, caught the attention of the crowd in the past as well with his profane caricatures last year in the middle of the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open. His actions became the talk of the town at the event, as the Spaniard lost his cool twice during the game.

In the second round of the event, Rahm was noticed taking out his aggression in the tee box. After a wild tee shot, he was noticed bashing the tee box continually with his driver. As a result of this, he damaged the area entirely. Again in the same round, Rahm was upset with his performance, and to let out his anger, he threw his club recklessly onto the bag, and the bag fell on the field.
