Recently Spieth did a candid interview with Forbes where among other things he also talked about the matter of Woods and Nike. And it looks like Spieth wasn’t exactly the biggest fan of the 15-time major winner using the brand. When he was asked about what brand should Woods choose next now that he is free from Nike, Spieth choose the brand he himself is using at the moment, i.e, Under Armour.
Spieth said in the interview, “Under ArmourUAA +0.1%, of course—finally go to the good side, if he wants zero distractions in any weather conditions,” This is not a mere suggestion. Spieth is willing to send some samples over to Woods to get a taste of the product. He also said, “I’m on the phone with him a decent amount—I’ll probably send him over a pair of the shoes I wear and see if we can start there.”

Woods shares a great friendship with Spieth. The bond they share expands beyond just playing on the same tour. Woods had guided Spieth in numerous tournaments. And Spieth too looks out for his friend and mentor. Now Woods has a big decision to make as the market is filled with big names who are eager to lock him down for themselves. There are already a few brands that are close to him. Firstly there is TaylorMade. The golfer already uses their golf equipment since Nike stopped their production of golf swings. It won’t be a surprise if impressed with their market reach, Woods went on to sign with them for apparel as well.

Then there is Addidas. Rose Zhang is the shining name from Woods’ agency, Excel Sports who already is a big face for them. They sure can try to bring him over. Then, a few days ago Charlie Woods was rumored to sign his first official deal with apparel brand Greyson. Though it did not materialize at the moment the chances that the Woods father and son duo might incline towards them in the future.
